Mark McLaurin is the first Director of Federal Affairs for the New York AIDS Coalition. He is responsible for the oversight of all of NYAC’s federal advocacy and policy development. He was the Director of HIV Prevention Policy for Gay Men's Health Crisis (GMHC) since 2002. Prior to joining GMHC, he served as the Midwest Regional Director at National AIDS Education and Services in Atlanta, GA. He also served as Director of Public Policy at the National Youth Advocacy Coalition in Washington. D.C. and was the Congressional District Director to U.S. Senator Barbara Mikulski (D-MD).

McLaurin is a graduate of the University of Baltimore and Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C. and holds a masters degree in Political Science. He is a Fellow of The Black AIDS Institute's African American HIV University, and is on the Steering Committee of CHAMP’s Strategy Lab for HIV Prevention Policy.
