Rebecca Fox works as the State Policy Coordinator at SIECUS, the Sexuality Information and Education Council of the United States. In this position, she assists the work of state level groups and coalitions working to ensure comprehensive sexuality education and working to stem the tide of abstinence-only-until-marriage programs. Prior to working at SIECUS, she worked as a Health Program Associate at the National Partnership for Women and Families. In this job, she monitored federal level legislation dealing with health insurance, discrimination, and reproductive rights. She works as a medical assistant at a lesbian health center and sits on the Community Advisory Board for the Lesbian Services Program of the Whitman Walker Clinic.
For her work with the Lesbian Services Program of Whitman Walker, Rebecca received the Gene Fry award. The Gene Fry award is given annually to volunteers who make an outstanding contribution to the LGBTQ population of the DC metro area. Rebecca has also worked with people living with HIV/AIDS, homeless youth, and children of LGBTQ parents. She serves on the board of the Washington Area Clinic Defense Task Force (WACDTF), which works to ensure access for all women to reproductive health services.
