Getting our Questions Answered, Adapting our Programs Appropriately
On July 21, CHAMP hosted a teleconference with representatives of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene (NYC DOHMH), other policy-makers and program implementors to discuss the recent MMWR report on the incidence of false positive HIV test results in New York City. Speakers explored ways to accurately convey HIV testing protocols, accuracy and policies in the wake of news reports on this issue, and highlighted issues to consider in the use of rapid HIV testing as a result of this data.
