Staff Bio: Ashley Moore

Ashley J. Moore is elated to be an intern at CHAMP. She is a junior at Pace University, studying Communications and Political Science. In addition to being an Honors student at Pace, she is also the director of events and weekly meetings for Women in Corporate America. Ashley is also on the Public Relations committee for the Pace University chapter of Keep a Child Alive.
Earlier this year, she volunteered at Iris House in New York, where she worked on a committee that created "Party with a Purpose," an event that educated youth about sex, drug abuse and HIV/AIDS. She was also part of an initiative to encourage youth to be tested for HIV. Ashley has been passionate and involved with efforts to combat HIV/AIDS since middle school, when she first learned about it. In high school, she was a peer educator for Planned Parenthood, where she informed her peers about sex education and HIV/AIDS.
Ashley chose to become an intern for CHAMP because she wanted to learn more about HIV/AIDS and be part of an organization that is making a difference for the better. Ashley plans to attend law school, be a positive role model in her community, and continue to learn and educate other people about HIV/AIDS and the effects it has on communities. Since she is from St. Louis, Misourri, she loves getting lost in New York City, watching movies, and enjoying home cooked meals when she goes back home.
Since interning for CHAMP, Ashley has contributed to the community forums that CHAMP co-sponsors, created flyers for events, and helped with CHAMP’s fundraiser at VOX POP, as well as assisting the CHAMP staff in any task around the office that needs to be done. Ashley looks forward to taking on more tasks in addition to gaining even more knowledge from the CHAMP staff.
